Could there be a more important issue this year? Focusing our content on democracy is a direct response to listening to all of your voices. You’ve made it clear that our community cares about the direction of our country, electoral politics, and how to get involved in voter activation. And we’re committed to creating opportunities unique for you to plug in.

Black Lives Matter.
On Saturday, June 6, a group of 18 Coffees Community Partners met in Union Park to peacefully protest racial inequality and police brutality at the Chicago March of Justice, organized by Activate Chi. 18 Coffees Community Partners from across the country donated money for our group to provide thousands of protestor supplies: bottled water, snacks, medic team needs like hand sanitizer and masks, and

Community Conversation with Color of Change
On Tuesday, June 9, we hosted a candid community conversation with Senior Political Manager Chad Stanton and Sadie Dean from Color Of Change, the nation’s largest online racial justice organization. Our focus was on doing more -- how to listen, learn, contribute, and create impactful and sustainable change, starting with ourselves.

Trivia Night
It was close to the very end, but a big congrats to Ellen for winning 18 Coffees’ first-ever trivia night! From Netflix-binge fun facts to democratic candidates and lyric fill-in-the-blanks, Ellen’s quarantine pop culture knowledge earned her a $50 gift card to her favorite local restaurant. Stand-up LIVE(ish)
On Friday, May 1, we teamed up with Team Us Comedy to present Stand-up LIVE(ish), a comedy watch party and fundraiser to benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository during the COVID-19 crisis. We curated a watch party with 45 minutes of the best sets from Chicago’s best comedians, including Community Partners Vik Pandya, Tyler Fowler, and Meg Indurti — and it was hilarious af.
