Wake Up Wired: ESG’s Impact on Change and Success

Wake Up Wired is a series presented by 18 Coffees that focuses on exploring topics related to design, technology, and social impact. Every month, we bring in a diverse set of speakers and facilitators who help us go deeper on the issues of the day through conversation and action.

Join 18 Coffees and special guests Ellen Shieh from PwC and Dorothea Duenow from UL as we explore ESG's impact on organizational operations, structure, and business success. How have large corporations held themselves accountable to ESG initiatives, and how can smaller businesses begin to do the same? We’ll dig into these questions and more on Tuesday, November 9 at 12pm CT.

About Ellen Shieh:

Ellen Shieh is a Senior Manager with the PwC ESG group. Looking to build a career of purpose during the 2008 recession, Ellen pursued a career in sustainability where she's worn a lot of hats as a sustainability professional, including tech enablement for ESG reporting and the former head of environmental sustainability for a global safety science organization where and helped the company launch their ESG reporting process and published their first few reports.

About Dorothea Duenow:

One thing that has remained at the heart of all the work Dorothea Duenow undertakes is love and deep respect for our planet. Everything she does is with the intention of leaving a better world behind, and helping people reconnect with what is free and good for all of us – an intimate relationship with the natural world and appreciation for life in all its forms. Currently managing UL's global sustainability reporting and communications, she is pleased to be able to contribute to a more sustainable future for all.
